You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Facility Management Div., Public Works Dept of NAVFAC ENG COMMAND SE. Duties

You will review design drawings and evaluate analytical engineering reports to determine corrective actions and provide guidance. You will conduct inspections of real property assets and develop written detailed analysis of facilities’ conditions. You will document facility deficiencies and initiate corrective repair action. You will develop graphs, charts, and other visual aid presentation aids covering program performance, fund utilization, and budgetary requirements. You will utilize mathematics for computations involving analysis and estimates of facility projects.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Qualifications

For Non-Federal applicants: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying extensive knowledge of engineering principles (e.g. civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) as related to various facilities systems, (e.g., heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, structural, roofing, electrical, fire alarm, utility distribution systems, etc.); 2) Tracking the use and status of resources for design, repair, and maintenance projects using system software; 3) Utilizing mathematics for computations involving analysis and estimates of facility projects; 4) Documenting facility deficiencies and initiating corrective repair; 5) Developing graphs, charts, and other visual aid presentation aids covering program performance, fund utilization, and budgetary requirements. For current Federal applicants: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying extensive knowledge of engineering principles (e.g. civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) as related to various facilities systems, (e.g., heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, structural, roofing, electrical, fire alarm, utility distribution systems, etc.); 2) Tracking the use and status of resources for design, repair, and maintenance projects using system software; 3) Utilizing mathematics for computations involving analysis and estimates of facility projects; 4) Utilizing computer software such as AutoCAD, WINEST, Single Platform Maximo.
