You will serve as a Public Works resources and Assessment Director in the Public Works Directorate of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will plan work to be accomplished by junior employees, set and adjust short-term priorities, or prepare schedules for completion of work. You will determine resource needs, evaluate impact of resource constraints, and recommend action for enhancing the efficiency of the assigned business process. You will analyze programs to determine if new business processes need to be developed.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing and evaluating major Public Works programs and processes; 2) Isolating and defining unprecedented issues and unknown conditions in various Public Works programs; 3) Communicating orally and in writing on a professional level; 4) Conducting management studies, business case, economic analysis, cost comparisons, and process improvement analyses and reports in order to recommend new approaches or procedures; and 5) Applying process improvement methodology, such as Lean Six Sigma, to improve Public Works operations.
