As a Supervisory Support Services Specialist you will: serve as the Supervisor of the Administrative Section of the Support Services Division at the VA Regional Office. The primary purpose of the work is to manage and supervise the operations of the Support Services Division Administrative functions, e.g. Records Management, Property Management, Supply, Procurement, Fleet Management, etc.

Duties

Manages the day-to-day operation of the administrative section of the Support Services Division as it pertains to areas including procurement of office supplies and equipment, records management, and forms and publications. Directs operation of the central mailroom. Directs all procurement, storage, and distribution of all forms and publications. Manages the administrative property of the organization by performing property management duties such as maintaining records, conducting periodic inventories, and/or disposing of excess property. Controls the acquisitions, use, maintenance and security of government vehicles assigned to the Regional Office.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management's group coverage qualification standards, associated individual occupational requirements (IOR), and individual qualification standards covering white collar occupations in the Federal competitive service can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
