Duties

You will perform budget functions involving formulation, justification and execution of funds for assigned programs. You will review reports of budget and program activities to determine amount and timing for issuance of funding documents to meet pre-established goals. You will analyze, monitor and review execution of approved budgets. You will review Command policy, instructions and guidance relating to financial management to provide comments and/or present recommendations.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

NH-02 Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience with one year at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or NH-I pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Four year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree

OR

A combination of education and experience that equates to one year of experience.
