The position is located at the Phoenix Area Office within the Office of Health Programs in Phoenix, AZ. The Integrated Behavioral Health programs provide the following services: provision of support to Integrated Behavioral Health consultants for their work in Social Services, Mental Health, Alcohol and Substance Abuse areas of focus. This will include patient education, health care provider training, quality assurance, and health promotion/disease prevention.
Duties
Coordinate the administrative functions of an office environment, using organization and administrative procedures.
Communicate courteously and effectively with clients and office staff under occasional difficult situations.
Apply social work ethical principles to guide professional practice in adherence with the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics.
Demonstrates ability in assisting and or aid to professional or specialist staff in such fields as personnel (private or government), social services in private, public welfare, government program or community organizations or in voluntary activities.
Participates in data collection and reporting.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
This position is established under the provisions of the Pathways Program.
Must be enrolled and maintain at least half-time course load as defined by the education institution at a qualifying accredited institution.
Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
You will be required to sign a Pathways Participant Agreement.

Internship: Provides high school, undergraduate, and graduate students with opportunities for paid work in agencies and to explore Federal careers. Applicants must be enrolled at least part-time in school or an educational program (including Registered Apprenticeship Programs and certain volunteer service programs). Interns must complete a minimum of 480 internship hours (320 hours if they receive a waiver) to be eligible for conversion.
Eligibility for the Pathways Internship and Recent Graduates Programs is expanding to include those with or without formal degrees who have completed "qualifying career or technical education programs" (which may include Registered Apprenticeship Programs, Job Corps, AmeriCorps, and Peace Corps).
Requirement for Internship Appointments: The grade level you qualify for is based on education. You will be considered for the highest grade for which you qualify. Interns may be promoted to higher grades based on the amount of education completed and acceptable performance, however, promotions are not guaranteed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0199-05: Your resume must demonstrate a successful completion of a four (4) full academic years of post high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Social Work Studies. (Transcripts must be provided)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0199-07: Your resume must demonstrate a successful completion of one (1) full academic year of graduate level education in Social Work Studies.
OR
Completion of a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement Provision in Social Work Studies. (Transcripts must be provided) You are required to show proof of enrollment in a qualified degree/diploma program by the closing of this announcement. Failure to provide adequate scholastic documentation within the specified timeframe will disqualify you from further consideration.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
