Duties
Functions in support of the Chief, collaboratively providing oversite for the overall management and direction of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) recruitment program. Based on the needs of the agency, identifies and engages appropriate recruitment methods, maintaining relationships and open dialogue with various recruitment outlets, remains abreast of recruitment trends and best practices in order to select and utilize a variety of innovative recruitment methods aimed at attracting the desired applicant pool. Provides expert advice and maintains continuous contact with Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), Health Services Division (HSD) national recruitment specialists and managers to assess recruitment needs and efforts. Assists with planning and conducting comprehensive studies to evaluate an improve the effectiveness of recruitment in the BOP. Provides training, attends site visits and provides guidance to Human Resources (HR) staff and management on all matters related to the recruitment and retention of staff for the BOP. Gives presentations or briefings on the mission of the BOP, job opportunities, hiring procedures, training, benefits and entitlements and other relevant information to stimulate the interest of potential applicants.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: GS-12 and GS-13: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for these grade levels. Experience: GS-12 and GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: GS-12:
Experience collaborating with Management and Executive Staff to plan and monitor recruitment strategies and data.
Experience utilizing technology (or traditional methods) to collect and evaluate data regarding recruitment and on-boarding.
Experience planning, coordinating, and conducting recruitment events for a broad range of positions.
GS-13:
Experience participating in the coordination and execution of recruitment and/or hiring events for a broad range of positions.
Experience in conducting outreach to candidates, including explaining the application process steps, offering resume assistance, and clarifying required application documents.
Experience presenting recruitment, applicant, and hiring statistics to human resource personnel and Executive Staff.
