You will serve as a SUPV VISUAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the TRAINING COMMAND of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Duties

You will plan, design, coordinate and develop a wide variety of visual products from initial planning stage through final production. This includes planning and using photographs, illustrations, etc. to communicate information through visual means. You will conceptualize and interpret a variety of objects; materials ideas and information covering a wide range of general ideas in order to provide aesthetically composed visual products. You will coordinate project with requestor and establish priorities to conform with the budgetary directives based feasibility of methods available for completion within deadlines. You will provide advice, guidance and recommend products and procedures for graphics development to improve the Marine Corps Communications- Electronics School (MCCES) training environment. You will develop performance standards and evaluate work performance providing ratings for civilian employees and markings for military personnel.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • The employee is required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any manner, Classified Information to unauthorized persons.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, designing, coordinating and developing a wide variety of visual products to convey the intended message or achieve the desired effect upon a specific audience staying within established budget; training personnel in the use of software/hardware that is specific to the development or presentation of graphic images. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that included a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position being filled.

OR

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree that included a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position being filled.

OR

Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
