The Program Support Assistant assigned to the Connected Care Program in the Chief of Staff or Associate Director for Patient Care Services Service Line in the Local VAMC is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Clinical Informatics Service (ANCIS).

Duties

Serves as point of contact for Veterans, medical center staff, VISN-20 staff, community agencies, and any others who contact the program office. Plays a major role in assisting the Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth nurses in the performance of activities related to the program, including the discontinuation of authorized equipment, quality improvement processes, and suggestion of performance improvement strategies to program staff. Accesses and monitors reporting unique to the Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth program and maintains consistent communication with clinicians to clear incomplete visits, incomplete and no status encounters, and incorrect duplicate visits on a regular, ongoing basis. Performs clerical support duties required by the Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth team. Takes and transcribes meeting minutes in prescribed format for review and approval by meeting facilitator(s) and distributes to appropriate meeting attendees. Organizes, maintains, and revises relevant materials and documents such as binders, PowerPoint presentations for surveys (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), The Joint Commission, (TJC), etc.) and other purposes. Maintains the Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth program administrative and clinical data in accordance with local facility record management guidelines. Compiles and prepares accurate reports of pending consults and patient needs. Ensures Remote Patient Monitoring -Home Telehealth Consults are completed in a timely fashion. Responsible for input of required data into telehealth programs utilizing various VHA databases within and outside the facility. Supports deployment and implementation of new telehealth equipment and/or services aimed at improving service. Provides appropriate telehealth clinic set up and assists other services with proper telehealth coding and clinic set up. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 08/12/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 . The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of systems and procedures applied in performing a wide variety of clerical/administrative duties; ability to maintain records and documents; maintain calendar of appointments, schedule conferences, coordinate meetings, and take minutes of various meetings; Ability to collect data that measures the effectiveness of administrative and technical aspects of a program; Knowledge of software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; Ability to communicate within a multidisciplinary team and provide customer service OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement (S.S.A) OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond one full year of graduate level education and specialized experience at the GS-05 level directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. ** Preferred Experience: Two-three years of Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth program experience.** You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Computer SkillsCustomer ServiceHealth Information ExchangeOrganizational Stewardship Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary, but may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying of clinical folders, forms, and miscellaneous supplies to various locations within the medical facility.
