You will serve as a PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SPECIALIST (FAP) in the FLEET AND FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM (FFSP) (N914) of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA.
Duties
Conduct briefs, workshops, and training to staff members on family violence within a community.
Promote and publicize training resources available for social services programs.
Build therapeutic relationships with patients and significant others by assuring client dignity and respect.
Implement work and family service plans to meet short and long-range program goals.
Draft reports and correspondence to respond to medical, law enforcement, and judicial inquiries.
Brief senior level leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting fleet and family strategic objectives.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying program management methods and techniques, and implementing prevention programs and related program management activities for the installation and tenant commands to promote healthy climates and to ensure the delivery of prevention activities and approaches designed to foster individual, group, and organizational health and performance to reduce and prevent problematic/destructive behaviors, such as: suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity, etc; 2. Advising installation, Command and unit leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives, and developing and implementing prevention assessments and evaluations to ensure leaders have prevention knowledge, skills and abilities to address gaps and promote the well-being of team members, teams, leaders, and the larger organization; AND 3. Consolidating and analyzing data from command climate reports, unit status reports, installation data and other sources to identify critical prevention needs and develop and provide recommendations for addressing such needs. Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
Successfully completed a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
