Duties
The primary duties of this position are:
Opens, sorts, and delivers all internal and external mail and special (classified, Next-Day, FedEx, registered, certified, Congressional, Freedom of Information Requests, etc.) incoming mail, including correspondence, documents, facsimiles, and miscellaneous mail to each mail code throughout the Regional Office.
Uses an automated tracking system to scan and track all incoming Federal Express packages. Opens all incoming Federal Express packages and based on established policies, determines if the contents need to be entered into the automated document management system.
Responsible for making sure mail room supplies as maintained as needed for the mail room. Checks supplies in office storage room so that materials are always available.
Processes receipt documents for incoming supplies. Receives supplies and checks items against requisitions and shipping documents for stock number, nomenclature, unit of issue and quantity.
Maintains and orders forms for stock through the Denver publications representative,
General Service Administration (GSA), or the Government Printing Office (GPO) through the Duplicating Office.
Receives and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, memorandums, telegrams, facsimiles, etc., pertaining to a variety of subjects such as fleet, procurement administration, Regional Inventory and others pertaining to Reclamation Property Program, to determine subject matter and appropriate action office.
Inspects office files to ensure records are stored and labeled correctly, contain current material, and are not duplicates. Establishes cross-reference between different file classification codes.
Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-06, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-05 level in federal service having demonstrated experience but not limited to Information management & accountability and administration dealing with mail and file duties such as: operating automatic postage equipment, computers, scanners, printers, and other electronic capture equipment; maintaining electronic and hard copy files; verifying all information is properly dated and documented; maintaining and securing confidentiality of Personally Identifiable Information (PII); using the Federal Express automated website to process all outgoing Federal Express packages.
To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service having demonstrated experience but not limited to Information management & accountability and administration dealing with mail and file duties such as: operating automatic postage equipment, computers, scanners, printers, and other electronic capture equipment; receiving scans and processing incoming and outgoing correspondence; documenting records in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration requirements; maintaining electronic and hard copy files; verifying all information is properly dated and documented; maintaining and securing confidentiality of Personally Identifiable Information (PII); maintaining and securing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI); using the Federal Express automated website to process all outgoing Federal Express packages.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
