Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Operations Research Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience o optimize business results and customer experience by:
Leading a staff in analyzing varying types of data sets within ACF including contract associated data (costs, timelines, patterns, metrics, and baselining data) for foundations development and organizational improvement based upon data analysis. Data will also be used to determine current and future technology states and requirements considering existing and future IT systems, platforms including artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Providing in-depth analysis to conduct independent cost and economic analyses for information technology (IT) systems or other product lines, such as, IT systems making capability, acquisition, strategy, programming, and funding decisions.
Leading transformation initiatives through stages of conceptualization, testing and evaluation, demonstrations, to full implementation to ensure timelines and overall program objectives are met.
Serving as supervisor to a team of Federal and contract staff including planning work to be accomplished and setting priorities for subordinates, evaluating performance, and identifying developmental and training needs for employees.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in Operations Research. Note: You must provide transcripts (official or unofficial) to support this claim.
OR
Have a Bachelors or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject- matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Note: You must provide transcripts (official or unofficial) to support this claim.
NOTE: Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science. The following are illustrative of acceptable courses: optimization; mathematical modeling; queueing theory; engineering; physics (except descriptive or survey courses); econometrics; psychometrics; biometrics; experimental psychology; physical chemistry; industrial process analysis; managerial economics; computer science; measurement for management; mathematical models in social phenomena; and courses that involved application of operations research techniques and methodologies to problems of management, marketing, systems design, and other specialized fields; or other comparable quantitative analysis courses for which college-level mathematics or statistics is a prerequisite.
Specialized Experience:
For this GS-15 position you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) of the following duties:
Leading a staff in analyzing varying types of data sets including contract associated data (costs, timelines, patterns, metrics, and baselining data) for foundations development.
Recommending organizational improvement based upon data analysis and technology advancement.
Utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve existing systems and develop future systems and platforms for the organization.
Planning work to be accomplished by subordinate staff based on organizational priorities.
