Duties
Provide general information about district wide operations to the public both orally and in writing. Respond to inquiries directly or refer individual to the appropriate staff member. May staff front desk of a receiving office or visitor center.
Assist in records reviews, inventories, and dispositions according to records schedule.
Enter or validate time and attendance records.
Process daily incoming and outgoing mail. Ensure all official forms are stocked and kept up to date. Maintain the central filing system of official records, directives, manuals, orders, etc.
Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence.
Purchases supplies and equipment.
Process various transactions such as obligations, collections, distributions, reconciliations, etc. in the automated financial system. Serves as collections officer.
Resolve complex travel issues and review travel records for accuracy.
Assists in property management to ensure accuracy of ownership and inventories are updated.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Performing clerical administrative duties such as processing mail, drafting correspondence, and performing records management. Computer software knowledge or experience in data entry. Providing customer service in person or over the phone. OR Successful completion of 4 years above high school with a major directly related to the position. OR A combination or related education and specialized experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
Physical Demands: Work is typically sedentary. Some walking, standing, bending, lifting may be required.
Work Environment: Work is in a typical office environment such as mail center, meeting and training rooms, cubicles, and office spaces.
