Duties

As a General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor (Facilities), you will perform the following duties: Directly supervise subordinate supervisors assigning work, explaining requirements, and setting deadlines. Strategic planning, conflict resolution, performance evaluation, and development of team members. Communicates and collaborates across all levels of the organization. Promotes innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging team input and adapting processes to enhance efficiency. Engage in and oversees the repair and operation of complex mechanical systems to diagnose and resolve issues. Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations, preventive maintenance and safety inspections to minimize risks. Provide guidance and supervisory authority over major work functions, assisting subordinate supervisors and employees in applying technical specifications. Identifies and addresses training and development needs to enhance team capabilities, utilizing individual development plans and arranging for necessary training sessions. Develop, implement, and monitor internal procedures to ensure effective control and direction of work activities. Emphasizes strategic resource allocation to achieve operational goals. Engages with higher-level management and staff to develop recommendations for operational improvements, including adopting new technologies or methods. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C and evaluated under OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which appears as a question in the on-line questionnaire.
