About the Position: Serves as the Writer-Editor, routinely provides editorial support for the Secretary of the Army and other Principal Officials across Headquarters, Department of the Army.

Duties

Serve as the Writer-Editor for the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army (AASA) and provides editorial support for the AASA, Deputy AASA, and their staffs. Provide rapid and incisive executive-level analysis and support in response to AASA or the Deputy AASA requests for an individual perspective. Apply a working knowledge of research methodologies, coupled with a high level of expertise in writing and editing skills to incorporate historical, factual analysis, and prepare talking points and speeches.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes 1) Provide editorial and production support required for hard-copy and electronic publication for dissemination to various agencies and major commands; 2) Coordinate the processing of assigned publications with internal and external stakeholders; 3) Utilize publication guidelines and or procedures in order to edit, write, and finalize products for publication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
