About the Position: The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) develops and delivers responsive aviation, missile and calibration materiel readiness to the U.S. Army. The position is located within AMCOM Logistics Center, Materiel Support DIR however, multiple vacancies maybe filled using this announcement.

Duties

Serve as a working leader for packing inspectors. Make decisions concerning matters that are adequately treated by available technical orders, regulations, procedures, standards, and Federal Specification manuals. Direct warehousing crew in boxing, crating, palletizing, loading, and transporting material to appropriate areas inclusive of test sites, test stands, labs, or demolition areas. Handles and transports material which requires the ability to operate motor vehicles to include trucks up to less than 5-ton capacity and forklifts capable of lifting up to 15,000 pounds as high as 210 inches. Check equipment against shipping documents to ensure that the documentation is correct and accurate.

The inspector frequently lifts and carries parts, equipment, and packed containers that weigh up to 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is generally performed inside in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. May occasionally work outside or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. The work is sometimes dusty, dirty, and greasy. The employee is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and exposure to potentially hazardous materials, so familiarity with safety procedures and practices in the workplace is important.
