Duties
This position is located in Denali National Park and Preserve in the Administration Division.
Location negotiable after selection. Selectee will be approved to work from one of the duty stations listed in this announcement. During the application process, select ALL duty stations you are interested in working at. You will only be considered for the duty location(s) you select when you apply.
The duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. The selectee will be required to report to an official DOI worksite, in one of the cities selected during the application process, at least two days per pay period.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Prepares recruitment request documents prior to submitting to the Servicing Human Resources Office (SHRO).
Serves as the park's payroll coordinator.
Provides guidance to supervisors about multiple human resources related topics such as recruitment request forms, appointment approval request forms, payroll, etc., and refers the appropriate human resources topics to the SHRO.
Initiates personnel actions to be authorized and approved by the SHRO. Manages enrollment in and activation of access cards.
Communicates in writing and orally. Creates and uses spreadsheets for a variety of information tracking.
At the GS-07 level, the selectee will be expected to independently develop technical and operational support documentation.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. At the higher grade level, the individual will be expected to perform more independently.
Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.
Physical Demands: Work is essentially sedentary, but does require some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers and files.
Working Conditions: The work is performed in an office setting.

The Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) will be set in accordance with the duty station geographical location that the selectee is approved to work at. The COLA for Anchorage is 1.69% and is 3.21% for all other locations in this announcement.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/08/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time. If part-time, the hours worked per week must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each Federal position being used towards experience, as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience.
Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute. You must self-certify your ability to type 40 words per minute during the application process. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.
In addition to the Selective Factor above, to qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience include verifying time and attendance using an automated payroll system; creating and using spreadsheets to track work process; and providing information to supervisors about recruitment strategies. You must include hours worked per week.
In addition to the Selective Factor above, to qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 level in the federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience include providing a wide variety of detailed administrative support services to enable efficient operation of a business or program office; tracking and reconciling workload deadlines; administering payroll; and preparing human resource employment paperwork and orienting new employees. You must include hours worked per week.
Volunteer experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.
