This position is located with the Forest Service, Work Environment & Performance Office. The incumbent provides program management, advisory and technical guidance on complex customer functions and work practices. Develops and delivers trainings, briefings, project papers, status reports and correspondence to managers, training participants, stakeholders, and partners.
Duties
Manages the planning, execution and delivery of training courses and programs.
Evaluates current activities and provides input on appropriate standards that work toward the goal of meeting employee development standards and customer needs, while enhancing teamwork and improving overall performance.
Analyzes training course cost and provides input on training program budget.
Collects and analyzes training data and reports statistical results to leadership and management.
Maintains student training enrollment and completion records.
Requirements

- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-09: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as majority of the following: providing advice and/or instruction on programming/training, reviewing training plans, reports, and regulations to determine training needs; maintaining training records; organizing and coordinating training requirements utilizing automated training systems.
OR
Have a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
