You will serve as a Principal Assistant Program Manager in the Advanced Undersea Systems Program Office of PEO SSN.
Duties
You will manage and oversee the prototyping, design, integration, construction, and test of advanced new submarine platforms and specialized mission systems.
You will coordinate with multiple Program Offices (primarily the VIRINGINA Program Office, PMS450), Sponsors, shipyards, and warfare centers in the execution of system development.
You will develop innovative solutions to complex technical and programmatic issues and to present alternative approaches that can be balanced against cost and schedule constraints to meet overall program goals.
You will provide goals, objectives, program and general guidance for operations consistent with higher level framework/guidance.
You will oversea identification of resource requirements and development of strategies for program planning, budgeting and execution (PPBE).
You will provide overall direction and guidance for the program organization, administration and civilian personnel.
You will manage workload for the program office or functional area.
You will analyze situations, identify problems, probe causes and select courses of action for subordinate managers to pursue.
You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by the employees in the program.
You will set priorities, prepare schedules for work completion, and ensure the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.

- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing program activities or functions (e.g. contracting, resource allocation, financial management, strategic planning, risk assessments, budget planning, development and execution, problem resolution and reporting, or financial management) to meet or ensure compliance with project requirements for the design, integration, development, modernization, sustainment, or maintenance of submarine systems, subsystems, or components.
