The position is located in the Office of Commercial Space Transportation (AST). The mission of the Office of Commercial Space Transportation is to ensure protection of the public, property, and the national security and foreign policy interests of the United States during commercial launch or reentry activities, and to encourage, facilitate, and promote U.S. commercial space transportation.

Duties

Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects/programs/activities. Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:Experience exercising independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations to management in the areas of performance management, personnel processing systems, business systems, workforce planning/forecasting, training initiatives, work-life programs, and other human resource/personnel initiatives.Experience using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods for evaluation and improvement of critical programsExperience identifying, analyzing, providing process or program improvement recommendations to higher level officialsExperience coordinating with internal and external sources regarding workflow and priorities to increase effectiveness of operations and overall program management-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
