About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.

Duties

Serve as technical expert on supply and services matters. Analyze, coordinate, investigate, research, and resolve supply problems impacting readiness. Conduct reviews and analysis to take appropriate action on supply problems within the Army Sustainment Command's worldwide responsibility. Promote ongoing and newly developed programs designed specifically to improve logistics readiness and/or reverse undesirable trends, which cause degraded readiness posture. Develop and resolve new logistics concepts, policies, technical procedures. Ensure that supply program functions assigned to the Logistics Readiness Center operate effectively, meet materiel readiness objectives and are responsive to customer needs. Develop, recommend, and plan courses of action that institute or refer to higher levels correction of material weaknesses and/or resolution of unique and complex supply issues. Conduct studies and analysis of functions, methods, procedures, and practices pertaining to new and/or improved business processes within the logistics community. Recommend actions or changes to policy to achieve improved supply readiness of supported units. Analyze problems reported by users of automated supply systems/databases and coordinate resolution.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time. Travel may include site visits to stateside and overseas locations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
