Duties
The selectee will serve as a Human Resources Assistant in the Office of Human Resources, APT Talent Management Division. Typical work assignments include:
Providing optimal level of customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
Providing administrative support and limited technical assistance to Human Resources staff members on a variety of basic internal procedures, instructions, and guidance.
Serving as a point of contact in one or more special program areas requiring basic knowledge, skill, and ability by responding to various basic inquires.
Updating tracking logs; resolving administrative errors and discrepancies; and developing solutions for basic routine problems.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-5 level (starting salary $45,146) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-4 level performing duties such as:
Assisting staff with various administrative support functions.
Serves as a point of contact (POC) and responding to various basic inquires.
Assisting in maintaining, reviewing, and updating case files, records, and resources.

Education: 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. One year of full-time study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or the equivalent or 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for 36 weeks in business, secretarial or technical school.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages
You qualify for the GS-6 level (starting salary $50,326) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-5 level performing duties such as:
Applying standard rules and regulations, procedures, and operations to provide administrative or human resources support.
Constructing and managing files and data logs, to include personnel files; and answering customer/applicant inquiries.
Utilizing a variety of software programs and automation equipment to perform office support duties, including assembling and compiling information, receiving and retrieving data; review documents for accuracy and completeness.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current competitive service employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). You may need to submit more than one SF-50 to comply.
