Duties
You will conduct planning meetings with tenant organizations to coordinate future operations, airfield maintenance, tenant and transient interoperability, and integration of fixed wing and rotary wing flight schedules.
You will undertakes special studies and assignments involving problems and issues affecting the operation.
You will ensures tenant and transient organizations are informed of destructive weather condition and the appropriate "Fly Away" plans for aircraft are coordinated.
You will maintain close and continuing coordination with the Public Affairs Officer to reduce or minimize activities leading to complaints
You will exercise second line supervisory responsibilities to direct a sizeable work operation through subordinate supervisors whom in turn guide and control the work of subordinate employees
Requirements

- Work involves managing a workforce with shift work to cover an 18 hour operation during the week and single shift on the weekend.
- Incumbent is required to submit confidential and statement of affiliations and financial interest upon assignment to the position and annually.
- This is a projected position and must audited approximately six to nine months after incumbent is on board.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinate operations for various commands and conduct plans to coordinate operations in the future, airfield maintenance, and transient interoperability. Solve problems and issues with operations by undertaking special projects. Coordinate long and short term construction projects. Ensure that organizations are informed of destructive weather and procedure to follow. Exercise supervisory responsibilities over approximately 200 employees. Evaluate work performance, attend meetings with personnel interested in the work of the organization, and prepare reports.

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5):
For positions other than Marine Transportation, experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations.
For Marine Transportation positions, experience in:
Planning, directing, and supervising cargo or bulk petroleum movements such as:
Embarkation and debarkation, cargo loading and discharge.
Formulating marine transportation itineraries and routings according to commercial cost factors and tariffs.
Formulating marine transportation traffic plans for personnel and cargo.
Scheduling ships.
Developing, analyzing, or evaluating cargo lift capabilities.
Preparing statistics for planning operations of ships, or formulating budgetary estimates of cargo transportation costs.
Serving as a licensed merchant marine deck or engine officer or naval deck or engine officer.
OR
Ship chartering negotiation or administration, such as:
Chartering commercial ships and space.
Reviewing and approving ship operating and damage expenses and marine insurance premiums.
Investigating ocean carrier claims for ship damage.
Reviewing and recommending action on cargo shortage and damage claims.
Analyzing and applying appropriate precedents and regulations.
Establishing rates with commercial carriers for special cargoes according to market conditions.
Analyzing statements of ship operating costs, and preparing estimates to adjust rates or determine the most economical method of transportation.
