You will serve as the Division Administrative Assistant in the Special Mission Systems Division; SUBSEA & SEABED Warfare & Maritime Operations Department of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NG-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-07 and GS-08.

Duties

You will perform administrative and office support activities for multiple supervisors. You will utilize knowledge of office management principles, methods, and procedures to complete work assignments. You will work jointly with peers and senior administrative personnel to carry out a variety of critical and time sensitive projects, some with detailed instructions such as data calls and reports. You will coordinate travel arrangements, prepare travel authorizations and travel vouchers in DTS; coordinate conferences, create and modify visit requests, prepare requests for small purchases and materials, update plant and minor property accounts. You will multi-task and prioritize work assignments and manage workflow processes to ensure deadline commitments are met. You will perform Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) management and administrative functions, including timekeeping and shipping document preparation. You will use Office Automation (OA) systems to include Microsoft Office, Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook. You will communicate both orally and in writing to a diverse group of scientists, engineers, logisticians, business operations personnel, accountants, and managers.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NG-02 (GS-05/06 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing clerical, administrative, or secretarial support for an office or organization. Examples of qualifying experience may include: preparing correspondence and other documents; coordinating meetings; maintaining the status of action items; scheduling appointments; screening calls or visitors; entering data into electronic systems or spreadsheets to support travel, timekeeping, or procurement. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
