This position is the Functional Coordinator (FC) assigned to the Field Intelligence Directorate (FID), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Duties
This position is the Functional Coordinator (FC) assigned to the Field Intelligence Directorate (FID), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The incumbent will lead a Nationwide Functional Team (NFT) to coordinate engagements with State, Local, Tribal, Territorial, and Private Sector (SLTTP) partners and produce threat briefings and other engagement materials on one of I&A's four functional priorities -- counterterrorism, cyber, nation-state, or trans-border threats -- and synchronize and prioritize collection nationwide on this topic.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
- Overnight Travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required
- Individual must sign a Mobility Agreement
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
You must have one year of specialized experience that has provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as supporting ongoing or emerging substantive intelligence collection, information sharing, and dissemination activities in any established specialty area. Such experience may include conducting a variety of complex assignments within his/her area of responsibility and conducting and directing in-depth research and analysis in support of homeland security. Additionally, such experience could be gained from:
Working with State and Local partners to create and information-sharing environment between them and the National Intelligence/Law Enforcement community.
Providing processes to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in terrorist operational tactics.
Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
