This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Division of Business Operations Systems and Administration (DBOSA).
As a Correspondence Analyst, GS-0301-13, you will serve as an advisor and expert source of information for the OPOLE leadership team concerning complex issues that affect the CMS correspondence program.
Duties
Provides technical direction to the Division, which has responsibility for ensuring control, coordination and effective management of all incoming correspondence assigned to the OPOLE.
Provides comprehensive recommendations on the OPOLE’s use of CMS’s Strategic Work Information Folder Transfer (SWIFT).
Conducts special assignments on a wide range of significant management and policy issues for the Division Director
Serves as OPOLE’s focal point for oversight and management of inquiries and requests received from a variety of sources, such as digital mail, email, facsimile, and voicemail.
Acts as a technical liaison with other CMS centers and offices, on relevant issues related to correspondence response experience.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Using automated data processing or tracking systems to receive and manage (i.e., tracking and routing) correspondence for an organization;
2) Analyzing, interpreting, and applying policies, procedures and practices within areas of responsibility; AND
3) Providing recommendations for improving correspondence control systems or operating procedures.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
