Duties
The primary duties of this position are as follows:
Composes and prepares confidential, routine, and non-technical correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents for the Financial Management Office (FMO) into final format using a computer. Reviews correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy, conformance with policy, factual correctness, and adequacy of treatment.
Serves as the FMO timekeeper. Assures timesheets are complete and approved by deadline. Includes setting up key codes in timekeeping system and assigning to employees as needed.
Provides accurate and timely advice and guidance on procedures, reports, requirements, and other matters necessary to implement policies, directives, and instructions for FMO.
Functions as FMOs travel coordinator. Makes necessary arrangements for conferences, including space, time, contacting people, and other matters based on information provided by the Financial Manager.
Receives phone calls and determines which calls can be answered personally and which should be directed elsewhere by identifying needed information and locating the appropriate person to be contacted or directed.
Qualifications
GS-07: In order to qualify for the GS-07 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent in complexity and difficulty to at least the GS-06 grade level in Federal service.
Specialized experience for GS-07: Experience finalizing correspondence in addition to at least three of the following: Providing a variety of administrative support services to enable efficient operation of a program office; using computerized personnel systems for presentations, entering time/attendance, making travel arrangements, or records management; preparing a variety of forms and other administrative paperwork; performing appointment scheduling and updating calendars for senior management; or performing research for senior management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 08/12/2024.
