You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION (FEAD) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will Enforce technical and administrative provisions related to the management of assigned construction contracts. You will inspect construction work on site to ensure work is done in accordance with contract documents. You will lead other technicians in their work assignments. You will explain safety laws, regulations, policies and procedures to others to promote safety requirements.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing construction reviews of plans and specifications for technical soundness and practicability; 2) Utilizing construction project scheduling knowledge and expertise to track progress of projects; 3) Preparing technical analysis, cost estimates, and reviews engineering designs for proposed changes; and 4) Ensuring contractors' compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
