This position is at the U.S. House of Representatives for the Committee on Ethics. This position serves as a Financial Disclosure Ethics Counsel for Members of Congress and staff.

Duties

The Committee's financial disclosure counsel is responsible for reviewing and certifying a large volume of public Financial Disclosure (FD) Reports, providing legal advice on all financial disclosure related matters through phone calls, emails and in-person meetings and provide outreach and training to Members of Congress and their staff as well as agency officials. Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task in a complex and fast-paced inter-disciplinary legal environment, ensure timeliness of filings and ability to identify and resolve issues. Responsibilities Provide legal advice on complex financial disclosure matters. Review and certify public Financial Disclosure (FD) reports. Provide education and training to Members of Congress and their staff. Assist with administration of the financial disclosure program. Recommend program improvements and implement program decisions. Use and support the electronic filing system, communication systems and processes.

Requirements

Qualifications

Possess a J.D. degree from an accredited law school. Currently an active member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Applicants must demonstrate excellent writing skills and be able to work effectively with other people, exercise sound judgment, and exhibit a strong interest in the work of the Committee.

Education

Possess a J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
