About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command; Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Support Region West at the Ft. Cavasos, TX TMDE Support Center. Ft Cavasos is nicknamed The Great Place because of the quality of life the post and area offer Soldiers and their families.

Duties

Serves as a Calibration Specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of TMDE. Prepares test and certification reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections, and measurement uncertainties for instruments being calibrated. Prepares reports to correct errors in existing procedures and provides technical information used in the decision making process. Performs inter-laboratory comparisons of reference level standards with other Army reference laboratories to validate accuracy.

Performing common tasks as a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator. I can perform calibration operations on various types of electronic, electrical and/or electromechanical measurement systems; interpret simple technical procedures and schematics in order to adapt them to complex calibration assignments; and diagnose or repair test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)Theory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade PracticesTroubleshooting Physical Efforts:Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Works in a sitting position for extended periods of time, and frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping is required. Working Conditions: Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. May be exposed to hazards of high voltage, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Must comply with applicable safety regulations.
