This position serves as the Correspondence Analyst to the Director of Veteran and Family Member Programs (VFMP), Integrated External Networks (IEN), Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC).
Duties
The incumbent serves as a correspondence analyst responsible for reviewing all Congressional, White House, Secretary, and other special inquiries received by letter, electronic communications, telephone, or other methods of communication to determine the proper disposition of these inquiries. This review includes the use of the computer systems and review of claims folders. The analyst responds to these inquiries by telephone or in writing.
Major duties include (but are not limited to):
Ensures tasking documents and organizational responses are prepared in proper format and published within established deadlines.
Monitors conditions to collect relevant information, evaluate progress towards achieving response goals and completing assigned tasks, and recommends or directs action for improvement.
Reviews inquiries to determine the priority in which they will be worked.
Plans, controls, and tracks the processing and reporting of congressional inquiries, Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC) inquiries regarding the Veteran Family Medical Program (VFMP) managerial strategy, and other actionable correspondence.
Serves as VFMP's central entry point for all requests for information, assistance, and other tasks assigned or delegated across the directorate.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/31/2024.
Grade Requirement: For CTAP, applicants must hold the grade for which applying, GS-12 or higher, on a permanent basis. The grade may be in any occupation. An SF-50 showing your grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: CTAP candidates must be found to be well qualified for referral. This is defined as meeting the specialized experience and any selective placement factor for this position. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11.
Specialized experience includes:
Applies analytical and evaluative techniques to mission-essential congressional response issues to plan and conduct effective operations.
Ensures that all written correspondence fully addresses the inquiry, accurately captures all relevant information, and is plain-spoken, clear, and concise using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting.
Employs evaluative methods and techniques to determine issues, root causes, and appropriate interventions in the short-term and recommends improvement for the long-term to prevent recurring problems.
Uses skill in oral and written communications to advise and consult with a variety of customers present findings and recommendations, negotiate agreements, and secure cooperation.
Develops, examines, adjusts, reconsiders, and recommends the settlement of claims in complex and high-profile inquiries.
Collects information from diverse sources as groundwork for developing technically sound responses to official inquiries from senior and executive level government officials, congressional members, and senior agency leadership.
Reviews all Congressional, White House, Secretary and other special inquires received by letter, telephone, email, or other methods of communications to determine the proper disposition of these inquiries.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. No unusual physical exertion is required.
