Duties
You will serve as the Equipment Publication Control Office Team Leader/Senior Technical Publications Management Specialist/Senior Writer-Editor, providing lead staff support to the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command TACOM.
Reviews and evaluates regulations, specifications, guidelines, and operating procedures received from higher headquarters that impact the TACOM LCMC equipment publications program.
Directs preparation and modification of supplemental guidance and ensures TACOM LCMC policies comply with higher headquarter regulations, directives, and guidance.
Keeps abreast of new programs, recent trends, and technological advancements and continually studies a variety of methods to develop new concepts, improve policies, procedures, media and techniques of publication management.
Maintains continuous liaison and working relationship with publication activities, contractor personnel and other government agencies. Ensures that the most complete, accurate and adequate publication packages are available.
Develops instructional training plans and provides Technical Writing training to Technical Publications Writers/Editor career interns, and TACOM LCMC functional trainees using standard publication regulations, guidelines and operating procedures.
Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services
Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion
Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members.
Lead the team in: identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience quivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-12. Specialized experience is defined as: technical contract language for the development of technical equipment publications and developed subsequent schedules for the delivery and review of those publications. Applicant should also have served as a senior advisor and editor to authors (Government contractors, military, and DA civilians) preparing technical equipment publications. Finally, applicant should have coordinated with equipment specialists, safety and environmental offices, Users Representatives, and other SMEs, as required, to complete technical equipment publication.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
