The Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (ATSS) serves as an Operations Control Center (OCC) Specialist within the Technical Operations Service Unit, NAS Security & Enterprise Operations (NASEO) Directorate, National Operations Group (NOG). The position is located at an OCC and is responsible for coordinating maintenance and operational activities with other FAA personnel and local, state, other Federal and private sector agencies to ensure continued system operations.
Duties
The ATSS is considered a technical expert within the Operations Control Center for the assigned system or specialty area. The work of this position directly supports the objectives of the National Operations Group and the safe and continual operation of the NAS, air traffic operations and FAA programs.
Requirements

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- Valid state driver's license is required.
Qualifications
There is no timeframe requirement at theLevel III/FV-H to compete. Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility that is appropriate to the position. Experience that demonstrates an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems. Generally, experience at the next lower level Pay Band H/level III or FG/GS-12 or equivalent, meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience supports the demonstrated abilities identified below.Specialized experience is experience working on legacyand newly developed NAS modernization systems, to include specializing in Surveillance, Navaids, Communications, Automation or Environmental systems.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.You must provide a narrative statement for each Demonstrated Ability.
