You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Operational IT Services division of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will evaluate information technology (IT) configurations to determine necessary enhancements, upgrades, or modifications. You will use performance measures and metrics to create an optimal end state regarding business processes and technology. You will monitor information technology (IT) capacity and performance to optimize networks. You will assess the capabilities and limitations of current hardware to optimize system reliability and maintainability. You will manage personally identifiable information (PII) and classified material for an organization. You will perform life cycle maintenance planning and analysis of information technology (IT) systems for optimal performance.

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Project and Network Management Experience: Minimum of one year of specialized experience including project management related to communications projects, network infrastructure development and maintenance, and coordination with stakeholders to meet project requirements; 2. Systems and Connectivity Proficiency: Demonstrable knowledge and experience supporting various communication and security systems. Familiarity with monitoring and managing edge switch equipment: 3. Technical Expertise in Infrastructure and Transport Engineering: Hands-on experience in managing and optimizing network infrastructure, including work with servers, hubs, routers, switches, and other related equipment. Familiarity with Non-NMCI (NN) network architecture, and associated tools for network management; 4. Documentation Skills: Proven ability in the creation, review, and maintenance of network, cable plant documentation, and network diagrams. Experience with drafting purchase order documents and familiarity with requisition forms, sole source justifications, and bid references; 5. Customer Service and Support Aptitude: demonstrated experience in providing technical customer support, resolving connectivity and networking issues, and serving as a point of contact for services; 6. IT Security and Compliance: Strong understanding and application of IT Security requirements, policies, and procedures, especially as they relate to NN networks. Collaboration experience with Information Systems Security Managers (ISSM) or similar roles to ensure compliance with established IT security policies. Education

The following education may be used as a substitution for specialized experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
