Duties
As a Trace Research Specialist, GS-301-11/12, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Develops and prepares a variety of material, using office automation/computer equipment.
Establishes clerical and administrative procedures for the office on the best methods to employ state-of-the art office automation equipment.
Maintains the Director's calendar, establishing appointments at own discretion.
Coordinates with Security Manager to ensure proper arrangements are made for
visiting dignitaries.
Develops, directs, and executes administrative operating procedures with the implementation
of policies, procedures, and standards for the office management programs.
Makes travel arrangements that include air, rental car, and lodging, based on stated desires
and in accordance with appropriate travel regulations.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.

You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1) Coordinating conferences and meetings; AND 2) Making travel arrangements; AND 3) Maintaining calendars; AND 4) Utilizing applications to create, modify, edit, format, prepare, track and finalize administrative correspondence.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1) Making arrangements for meetings to include creating agenda topics and coordinating control room setup; AND 2) Making travel arrangements to include coordinating with countries or Embassy personnel to ensure all travel coordination's are appropriate and secure; AND 3) Maintaining and executive calendar by establishing and shifting appointments at own discretion due to conflicting appointments; AND 4) Composing correspondence or other written material that is sensitive for executive-level staff.
A combination of experience and education. (Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements as specified above. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-11.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is a substitution for specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level.
