Duties
This position is located in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Human Resources, United States Capitol Police. Serves as a Human Resources (HR) specialist for Information Systems administration for sworn and civilian HR automation programs providing technical expertise on system operations, hardware, and a wide variety of personnel applications and programs. Oversee HR Information Systems projects that have broad USCP impact. Designs, develops, modifies, and/or implements complex automated HR data processing and networking system solutions which provide decision-making information support related to HR management programs.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.. For the CP-10 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-09/GS-11 implementing, managing, and maintaining database systems that meet HR requirements. Examples of specialized experience includes but are not limited to: Collaborating on identifying key HR requirements for database systems and reporting systems integration or migration; Interpreting data extracts and reports from automated HR databases; Implementing and monitoring Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) processes and procedures; Interpreting and analyzing data retrieved from HR databases to identify office needs; Providing consultative skills to others regarding HRIS and program improvement; gathering information from HRIS users and key stakeholders to recommend improvements; serving as a technical expert in long and short range HRIS planning; and providing training materials and guidance to HRIS users. For the CP-11 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-10/GS-12 implementing new initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate programs. Undertakes or participates in special projects, ongoing analyses, investigations, and initiatives that have high priority for high-level management. Producing complex analyses and written reports; organizes special committees and workshops, initiates program reviews; and develops or fosters cross-agency activities.
