This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Performs clerical duties
Duties
Perform a variety of clerical, administrative support, record keeping functions within the assigned Directorate.
Maintain subject-matter files and records related to the work of the Directorate.
Receive visitors and telephone calls to the office of the Director, independently determines the nature of requests, and directs callers to appropriate staff or provides the desired information.
Serve as a liaison/customer service point of contact for the Directorate and ensures the image of the Directorate is demonstrated in a professional manner.
Ensure correspondence, messages, reports, and other communications meet the quality standards of the Directorate.
Prepare travel orders using an automated travel order system.
Extract suspense date reports from automated databases.
Track directorate training.
Works with the Command training administrator, arranges for special seminars to be held.
Serve as Directorate correspondence quality control point of contact.
Requirements

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience such as:
1) Assist with preparation of travel orders for employees;
2) Prepare a variety of correspondences, reports, or briefings for an organization; and
3) Create reports and presentations in support of the organization.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band/grade level (NK-01) position in the federal service.
OR
Educational Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify for the NK-02 level if you possess four (4) full years of education beyond the high school level from an accredited college or university. Transcripts must be provided with your application package.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: You may substitute specialized experience at the NK-02 level with a combination of experience and education as described above, if you do not possess all of the education or experience. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Transcripts must be provided with your application package.
