This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity mission statement:To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.
Duties
Oversee daily operations of key repository and/or outlying key lockers.
Conduct inspections to ensure proper management of keys, locks and locking devices.
Maintain inventory list and/or records of items such as access rosters, issue registers, keys not accounted for etc.
Conduct investigations on lost/stolen/damaged keys and locks.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position require you to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License/Installation driving privileges.
- This is a mission essential position. You may be recalled during non-duty hours to assist in investigations.
Qualifications
This position is under the Acquisition Demonstration Project. The NK-02 broadband incorporates former GS equivalents GS-5 step 1 through GS-7 step 10 grade levels and salary levels. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as Assisting in performing unannounced random inspections such as: keys, locking devices, key lockers, and inventory records on a monthly basis; Ensuring background screening is completed prior to adding personnel to access roster; Maintaining files to ensure accurate record keeping of only authorized personnel receiving keys. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NK-01).
Educational Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify for the NK-02 level if you possess four (4) full years of education beyond the high school level from an accredited college or university. Transcripts must be provided with your application package.
Combination of Education and Experience: You may substitute specialized experience at the NK-02 level with a combination of experience and education as described above, if you do not possess all of the education or experience. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Transcripts must be provided with your application package.
