This position is located in Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP), Information Security and Technology Services Section (ISATS) and is responsible for advising the DCP on the potential of data and how to use data to provide new insights into the use of advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques, to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance.
Duties
Develops logical and physical data models to reflect business requirements.
Acts as the lead information analyst or lead database administrator on large complex efforts and provides consultation to less experienced analysts or database administrators (DBAs).
Develops and maintains expertise in the efficient use of a range of programming languages and statistical packages, including but not limited to: R, Python, SQL, SAS and visualization tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Reporting, and Tableau.
Develops and maintains machine learning algorithms for internal applications.
Advises on the direction of the Corporation's information administration program, and defines projects to support that direction. Prepares proposals for strategic planning regarding corporate information issues, and sets goals and directs pursuit of data administration objectives.
Provides technical guidance and expertise to DCP staff on topics of information management.
Communicates complex technical requirements, issues, and problems to all levels of management and both technical and non-technical personnel.
Contributes to the Corporate enterprise data sharing program that promotes the management of information from a corporate wide perspective, the consistent definition of data, and the management of information across organization lines.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience developing data strategies; developing enterprise data governance technologies and processes; developing modern cloud-based data architectures; and developing security and privacy policy data-related compliance solutions.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience, you must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:
