You will serve as a Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Production Division, Facilities Management and Sustainment, Work Control Team of NAVFAC NORTHWEST
Duties
You will review information from Material Safety Data Sheets to check the accuracy of a hazardous material (HAZMAT) database.
You will store hazardous material (HAZMAT) verifying regulations are followed.
You will research current applicable governing regulations for hazardous materials (HAZMAT) handling and disposal to remain apprised of compliance requirements.
You will develop management reports to determine HAZMAT control efficiency and accuracy of data entry.
You will research literature for information on hazards encounters.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
- Work site areas include activities supported by NAVFAC Northwest.
- May be required to carry a portable radio or pager and maintain contact with supervisor or customer service center at all times.
- This is an emergency response position. In the event of an emergency, the incumbent may be required to report to work during non-duty/duty hours and during emergency situations.
- May be assigned duties other than those identified in the position description.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Participating as the Point of Contact for Production HAZMAT working with technicians.
Unloading of vehicles, commercial and government owned.
Receiving, issuing, inspecting, storing, labeling, shelf-life management and delivery of hazardous materials.
Collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data for preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports utilizing various websites and programs.
Conducting semi-annual work center inspections of hazardous material located in work center satellite storage locations.
