You will serve as a Security Assistant (OA) in the Visitor Control Center (VCC) of NSA MID SOUTH TN SEC DET.

Duties

You will process requests for the issuance of temporary passes, contractor/vendor passes, and visitor passes. You will review and validate applications, access lists and other required forms for access to the installation You will type a variety of material in proper format such as correspondence, forms, reports, requisitions, and statistical data from handwritten notes You will provide guidance and information on security regulations and procedures, exercising sound judgment and discretion in response to telephone and in-person security inquiries.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining security files; 2) Creating company identification cards; 3) Screening of applications and documentation for vehicle decals and passes. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
