This position is in the Quality Assessment Division, Livestock and Poultry Program, AMS and is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering programs for the grading, verification and/or inspection of beef, veal & calf, lamb, pork, shell eggs, poultry, and rabbit products.
Duties
The duties described are for the full-performance level.
Review and reconcile the payroll and billing information submitted by grading and audit personnel.
Prepare reimbursements for State Cooperative Agreement.
Examine personnel actions and employee requests and makes appropriate changes to master records in the internal time and attendance system.
Monitor and track delinquent accounts, and contacts Federal/State supervisors or prepares correspondence as necessary.
Adhere to Equal Employment and Civil Rights (EEO/CR) policies, goals, and objectives in performing the duties of this position.
Prepare and submit bills to state agencies for charges owed to QAD determining the appropriate percent owed based on type of commodity.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

- The work is sedentary, but may involve some walking, stooping, and bending, and carrying of files and documents weighing up to 10 pounds.
- The work is usually performed in an office setting but may include trips to various field offices, training locations and National headquarters.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
FOR THE GS-07 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:
Utilizing automated systems.
Preparing financial or administrative documents.
Aiding others in resolution of error or discrepancies in billing process.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
