Duties

As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GG-0132-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as a Counterintelligence (CI) Senior Intelligence Analyst with the responsibility for managing a team of CI analysts focusing on foreign intelligence activities that threaten MDA's supply chains and/or RDA activities. Research, review, edit, plan, prepare, integrates and publish complex all-source products in coordination with the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) and IC components to assess CI, foreign intelligence structure, capabilities, activities, and intentions to target the Missile Defense Agency personnel, facilities, activities, and interests by applying a wide range of intelligence analytic skills and background knowledge. Lead and oversee the preparation, production, and coordination of strategic/operational analysis on issues of importance to the Missile Defense Agency and DoD. Provide guidance, direction, and leadership to an assigned team of CI analysts by establishing analytic priorities and reviewing production to ensure compliance with ICD 203 and analytic tradecraft standards. Identify significant trends within the assigned subject matter area and propose new or revised analytic products to alert decision-makers and/or CI Agents to new developments and to meet customer requirements. Develop complex analytic approaches to problems and situations when data is incomplete, controversial, or when no precedent exists when managing an assigned team or working a solo analytic project. Represent the MDA CI Division on DIE and IC multi-disciplinary efforts, working groups, or meetings involving counterintelligence or foreign intelligence issues. Develop and maintain liaison with counterparts within MDA, DIE or national intelligence agencies, and components of U.S. commands to coordinate intelligence products. Respond in a timely fashion to changing requirements, priorities, and short deadlines; an expert ability to prioritize and manage multiple short-term and longer term tasks and projects. Utilize excellent oral and written communication skills, including an expert ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the Intelligence Community (IC), to compose and deliver responses to complex questions in a clear, concise, and organized manner. Incumbent will be required to provide CI analysis support to Special Access Programs and CI operations.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GG-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/GG-12 grade level in the Federal service: Please possess at least 2 of the following: Experience with Counterintelligence analysis support to include research, planning, preparing and coordinating intelligence products Experience working independently to provide guidance, direction, and leadership to manage a team Experience creating accurately written and complex products tailored to a specific audience in an easily understandable manner Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
