This Lead Congressional Affairs Specialist position is located in the Oversight Division in the Office of Policy and Program Analysis, Directorate of the Comptroller, Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, (OBO/COMP/P/O), in the Department of State (DOS). The incumbent serves as a Lead Congressional Affairs Specialist position with responsibilities for managing OBO Congressional Engagement.
Duties
Provides authoritative advice, guidance, and consultation to Bureau officials for all legislative matters and serves as the primary point of contact for all oral and written Congressional deliverables.
Critically reviews and analyzes current Bureau policies and practices with a view toward ensuring Department conformity with applicable statutes, Administration policies, regulations and procedures.
As a team leader, ensures effective workload distribution and balancing, as well as monitoring work progress, reporting status updates, and maintaining records of accomplishments.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience preparing legislative deliverables to achieve organizational objectives.
Experience researching and briefing senior officials on legislative and policy issues.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
