Duties

Perform circulation functions such as checking out library materials, registering new patrons etc. for an organization. Collaborate with others to develop or improve products, services and programs. Schedule patrons utilizing automated systems. Support public relations through informal contact with other professionals or the general public.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require you to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position may require you to do business travel up to 5% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationOral CommunicationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-06 position: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
