Duties

Develop programs to assist organization with education, public relations, and outreach. Develop programs to assist organization with education, public relations, and outreach. Collaborate with others to develop or improve products, services, and programs. Provide Administrative and Clerical support to a full range of library functions. Collect data and prepare statistical reports related to inventory and accountability of materials. Support public relations through informal contact with other professionals or the general public.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Requires occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional travel is required, not to exceed 5% yearly.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Assisting with library purchasing/procurement procedures, such as procurement of supplies, equipment, materials and/or services; 2) Assisting with library inventory to support accurate record-keeping; 3) Collaborating in planning, organizing and/or delivery of library activities/services (such as events, outreach/educational programs, or daily library operations); and 4) Providing patrons general assistance with library services and/or procedures to facilitate the use of the library. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationOral CommunicationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
