Duties
SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to carry out those duties designated by the Chief of the Force Development office in planning, implementing, administering, and advising on Force Development academic opportunities, tuition assistance program, career and force development programs and other education and training services and activities provided to military members, retirees, and their families.
DUTIES:
Serve as support liaison advisor for education services. Identifies requirements and provides recommendations for completing Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree.
Responsible for the input and data accuracy of all related transactions in automated systems for the military formal schools program.
Manages the administration of the benefits and entitlements for education programs.
Serves as technical expert managing Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) program.
Performs test examiner duties, special projects, and other duties.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the Air Force Reserve mission, training methods, policies, procedures, regulations, directives, instructions, etc. Substantial knowledge of the English language in order to write with sufficient clarity. Skill and knowledge of automated systems used to administer the education and training programs. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy for the purpose of counseling principles, concepts, and methods designed to advise individuals on the applicability/availability of various testing programs. Must have sufficient knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software employed, in order to make reports, correspondence, and extract data. Must possess ability and knowledge of an organization and its functions and programs to answer inquiries with ability to analyze data/products to determine adequacy of training programs and/or deficiencies thereof.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the Air Force Reserve mission, training methods, policies, procedures, regulations, directives, instructions, etc.
Substantial knowledge of the English language and skills and abilities to write with sufficient clarity in order to communicate effectively on various aspects of training requirements.
Skill and knowledge of automated systems to make reports and extract data.
Ability to analyze products to determine adequacy of programs and/or deficiencies thereto.
Ability to communicate orally with managers, supervisors, technicians, family members, reservists, etc. using tact and courtesy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
