You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TRAINING SPECIALIST (GROUND TRAINING OFFICER) in the TRAINING DEPARTMENT (N7) of TRAWING FIVE.

Duties

You will be responsible for the oversight, coordination, execution, and management of all ground training plans, directives, and curriculum. You will manage and oversee all government contracted resources required to conduct academic, classroom, and simulator training. You will manage all academic training and simulator facility resources and classrooms. You will oversee the day to day scheduling of classrooms, simulators, and various other training devices. You will develop and implement academic training department policies, methods and procedures for the administration of curriculum. You will utilize extensive professional experience and comprehensive knowledge of military flight training principles to develop new instructional methods and recommend policy changes.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating training program requirements by reviewing course curriculum, testing requirements, or instructional methods to identify and eliminate deficiencies and develop policy or program changes to support aviation training requirements.
