This position is in the Correspondence and Maintenance Section 1, Customer Advocacy Branch, Program Assistance Division, Servicing and Asset Management Office, Business Center Operations Office, Rural Development.
This is a Bargaining Unit position.
Duties
Provides prompt, courteous, and accurate responses to customer inquiries related to mortgage loan servicing matters using customer service skills and strategies.
Receives, researches, analyzes, coordinates, issues determinations, corrects issues, and responds to inquiries from customers, including internal and external entities regarding Single Family Housing (SFH) loans and grants.
Receives and responds to customer inquiries through email, faxes, telephone and written correspondence.
Documents inquiries and responses in the loan servicing online system.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
For the GS-7 level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: experience working in a mortgage loan environment. Familiarity with Customer Service fundamentals and basic loan servicing operations to provide accurate and meaningful communications with customers. Ability to respond to servicing inquiries through multiple communication channels. Utilize logic and research skills to determine the appropriate action. Experience in responding to customer inquiries orally and in writing.
