Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. You will serve as a STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SPECIALIST for Commander, EOD Group One

Duties

You will establish and administer effective strength and conditioning protocols. You will observe and provide demonstrations in physical training sessions to access program. You will evaluate physical training session set ups, sustainment and maintenance, and utilization and provide recommendations on improvements and findings. You will coordinate individualized exercise programs to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of personnel recovering from injury. You will refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a licensed medical provider for evaluation and treatment, in accordance with local protocols. You will lead and participate in working groups to create and modify facilities. You will research, interpret, create, adapt, and modify Strength and Conditioning program guidance, guidelines, processes, and methods based on user feedback, emerging mission requirements, and/or changes in technology and research.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to repeatedly lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing complex health or wellness solutions in the development and execution of a multi-disciplinary exercise program AND applying professionally accepted exercise techniques, methods and training practices to enhance the readiness and performance of strength and conditioning program members. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants MUST possess a degree in a major study within an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.

In lieu of specialized experience, the following education substitutions can be used:

3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
