This position is in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Refugee Programs Bureau (RPB), Division of Interagency Outreach and Response Team (DIOR).
Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an Interagency Outreach and Response Specialist , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Supporting the ORR/RPB/DIOR National Strategic Outreach Lead in developing and implementing the Refugee Programs Bureau's national strategic outreach plan, working with other RPB divisions to update and incorporate all ORR activities as part of the initiative.
Working with the National Strategic Outreach Lead to recommend and develop strategic methods and models of outreach with Federal, private, philanthropic, and non-profit entities designed to help refugees attain self-sufficiency and integrate into their new communities.
Supporting building partnerships with national-level stakeholders, States and Federal agencies, to enhance resources and services to refugees. Supporting national outreach/engagement efforts promoting refugee resettlement by disseminating critical information, problem solving, and coordinating/collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes for refugees and their families. Participating in ORR/RPB federal partnership outreach engagements.
Working with the National Community Outreach Lead to implement lived experience initiatives that integrate client and diaspora experience into the ORR/RPB's program and policy development.
Working with the Emergency Preparedness and Response Lead to support the advancement of emergency preparedness and response initiatives for ORR/RPB's staff, stakeholders, and clients by developing curriculum, communication materials, and interagency partnerships that increase knowledge about emergency preparedness and response.
Developing the knowledge and experience necessary to deploy in emergency situations to coordinate with federal and non-federal partners and support delivery of services to the Refugee Program's eligible populations.
Serving as the primary lead, or supports other DIOR staff, on contracts or grants related to DIOR's work with national strategic outreach, national community outreach, or emergency preparedness and response.
Leading and participating in other tasks as assigned by the DIOR Leadership team and line of effort team leads.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
For the GS-12: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Working within the U.S. refugee resettlement system which may include national or local resettlement agencies. community-based organizations. federal. state and local government, or other organizations that provide services to refugees and other ORR-eligible populations (to include asylees, humanitarian parolees, victims of trafficking, etc.)
Participating in collaborative projects between different governmental and/or non-governmental organizations in support of refugees and other ORR-eligible populations.
Supporting the implementation of social service and longer-term integration programs for refugees and other ORR-eligible populations.
Working directly with newly arrived refugee and other ORR-eligible populations in the United States.
For the GS-13: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sector) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Working within the U.S. refugee resettlement system, which may include national or local resettlement agencies, community-based organizations, federal, state and local government, or other organizations that provide services to refugees and other ORR-eligible populations (to include asylees, humanitarian parolees, victims of trafficking, etc.)
Building partnerships and leading collaborative projects between different governmental and/or non-governmental organizations in support of refugees and other ORR-eligible populations.
Designing and/or overseeing the implemention of social service and longer-term integration programs for refugees and other ORR-eligible populations.
Formally or informally leading a team to work directly with newly arrived refugee and other ORR-eligible populations in the United States.
